Why Being Creative Is So Important

In this blog post, you will learn why it is important to be creative. I will discuss the scope of creativity and why it really matters. By the end of this blog post, you will have gained an insight to why you are a creative person – even if you don’t realize it. The journey to creative thinking does not evolve around becoming creative. That is a myth. Rather, you should work to activate creative thinking.

Let’s first take a look at what it means to be creative. What are the first words that come to mind when you think of creativity? Think about it. If we all think the same, what nuances does the World have?

What is creativity?

Creativity is amazing. It is the ability to think differently and make something new. Yes, you might think that sounds a lot like the concept of innovation. I like to think of creativity as a term for the ability to think out of the box and develop ideas that come from a personal point of view. Creativity culminates when you understand yourself, and your surroundings, so that you can express your place in this World. Innovation is one of the great outcomes of creativity.

Creativity is what enables you to do something purpose-driven based on your personality, capabilities, and dreams. Creativity is the result of you expressing yourself and it is your primary resource for doing something for the greater good across any industry.

So, why is Being Creative important?

Well, I believe that we all have a purpose in our lives. Don’t you think any differently. I believe, that we all have a goal to find and pursue. We all have hopes and dreams and somewhere in that ocean storm, is your purpose. I think that is what makes us human. Learning to express yourself, is your road to find and pursue your purpose(s). Yes, that is written in plural. The great thing about creativity is that you can always find something more to be creative about. Never stop thinking!

Sure, making things easier through machine learning boosts efficiency and optimization… but I think that along the way, we forget to to use our own two hands to create something that really matters. I think, that some of the greatest ideas come from exploring the limitations of being human. Now, lets look at some examples.

Here are some examples:

It is interesting how we tend to look back in time for inspiration. Actors might think back on William Shakespeare, scientists look up to Albert Einstein, musicians admire Mozart, chefs look up to Paul Bocuse, and hospitality managers embrace the history that surrounds the city.

We can modernize all that we want using new technology. However, you got to admit, that some of the most respected works derive from earlier days. Back then, people could only rely on people and handcraft to create something extraordinary.

That is not to say, that technology doesn’t help. Of course it does. It has tremendous abilities to help us organize and improve… but being creative is what makes being human all the more interesting.

So, embrace creativity!

Thank you for reading and happy Easter!
