Why Inspirational Communication Is Everything
Sources of inspiration are a reflection of what we can do, when we put effort into it. They are like sudden, unexpected wonders that make life all the more interesting. It is those precious moments, that motivate and encourage people to make an effort to do something.
We need to see, that others are making a difference to find the hope, that one day we can add something new to the world as well. Inspiration is what gets you to think about how you can improve the workflow or the next new product for the company. Allowing for such a flourishing work environment requires leader(s) who inspire.
What Inspirational Leadership is
The concept of leadership is that one person or a group of people show the direction that the employees are supposed to go and how. As a leader, YOU are setting an example to the people around you. The energy that you show, is what your colleagues and employees adapt to. Unfortunately, what I often see is that management surpresses a culture that allows inspiration to thrive. To them, productivity is everything. The irony is though, that efficiency is the result of many factors that go way beyond pressure.
Statistics show, that efficiency is at its maximum, when management sets an example that inspires and motivates people. Employees need to know that:
- Their effort can make a big difference,
- there is reason for doing the work that they are,
- their tasks and projects serve a greater purpose,
- … and that management has good values and a strong vision.
That is exactly what inspirational and transformation communication is: optimsim, positivity, and trust; success stories, motivational speaking, and the encouragement for employees to come up with ideas; appreciating intellect and creativity.

The elements of inspirational communication
To be as inspirational as you can be, there are quite a few elements that have to go together in addition to a supportive work culture. As a communicator, you have to project many things to spread good energy.
You have to show your human side: be understanding, supportive, and compassionate. Motivate your team even when times are tough and stay calm in stressful situations. Pick your colleagues and yourself up, when you feel knocked down. Stick to your values and help develop others’ talent. Challenge the norms of the company and society. Acknowledge effort, progress, contributions and successes.
